DIN 1629 applies to seamless circular tubes and pipes made of unalloyed steels St37 (1.0254), St44 (1.0256), St52 (1.0421). These tubes are predominantly used in the construction of chemical plant, vessel, pipework and for general mechanical engineering purpose. The maximum permissible working temperature are 300°C. The maximum permissible working pressure is according to the wall thickness and outside diameter. In Europe, it is replaced by EN 10216-1.
Manufacture: tubes shall be made by the seamless process and shall be cold drawn or hot rolled.
Heat Treatment: tubes manufactured by hot forming shall be supplied in the hot formed condition, to meet with mechanical and technological properties, the requirement for normalizing should be done if necessary. Cold rolled or cold drawn tubes shall be normalized after forming and supplied.
Inspection & Test: tensile test, flattening test, flaring test, NDT, surface inspection and dimension check.
Length: 5800mm; 6000mm; 10000mm; 11800mm; and so on.
Max length: 18000mm
